Liverpool started the game on the front foot, taking the lead in the 9th minute through Harvey Elliott, who calmly finished with his left foot after a neat assist from their right back Conor Bradley. Brighton, however responded and found an equalizer in the 32nd minute by Yasin Ayari.

Dominik Szoboszlai restored Liverpool’s lead just before the halftime whistle, with a well-taken goal during stoppage time, giving the Kops a 2-1 lead into the break.

The second half brought a dramatic turnaround, with Kaoru Mitoma, introduced after the hour mark, electrified the crowd with a sensational solo goal in the 69th minute.

The winning goal came in the 87th minute, courtesy of 17-year-old Jack Hinshelwood. The academy graduate finished calmly at the far post sending the home fans into jubilation.

Despite their experience, the Reds failed to respond. Mohamed Salah, who had a quiet night, missed a clear chance earlier to extend their lead to 3-1.
