5 Daily Habits to Turn a Broke Life into a Purposeful One

In Uganda, many face hardships, both the educated who struggle to find meaningful employment and those without access to basic education, who face even greater obstacles.
The levels of unemployment are steadily inreasing, cost of living so high, and not forgetting limited opportunities in all sectors.
A good number of people mostly the youth are stuck. But even in trying situations, their are small daily actions that can have a positve impact on our life and as bring life changing opportunities.
Today, the Eyee brings you five habits that will help change and set you to live a purposeful life.
1. Start Your Day with Gratitude and Intention
Firstly, wake up each day thinking of atleast three things you should be grateful for, it could be your health, life, family or a meal.
Being grateful helps to strengthen your mindset and reminds you that even when life seems to be a hell of a ride, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
The next step is to set a small and achievable goal each day in your life. It maybe saving UGX 500, talking to someone new in your area, or finishing up a small job. It doesnt matter what job. This will help create a sense of progress.
2. Learn One Useful Skill
Knowledge can mean to be power mostly when it yields some income. In a country like Uganda, One should atleast spend 30 minutes daily learning a practical skill. You can use free YouTube videos to explore farming techniques, phone repair, crotchet design or digital tools like Canva, graphic designing, Digital Marketing, or Web Design & Development.
3. Track Your Spending and Save Smartly
Financial literacy is key most especially when you live in a country like Uganda where your job security is not guaranteed.
One should atleast use 10 minutes daily to track what they spend, Cut out the non essentials like too much airtime or data usage, social events and parties, subscrption costs, unnecessary transport costs, for example taking a boda-boda for short distances that could be walked.
You can also save money in a sacco, or a mobile wallet. This saving culture can help you fund your future goals, like starting a simple kiosk or enrolling in a training course.
4. Connect with Your Community Every Day
Anywhere in the World, relationships are a source of strength. Make sure you meet a person each day, it doesnt matter who they are, a neighbor, a fellow vendor, or a workmate.
These connections may seem small but sometimes lead to opportunities we dont expect. such as getting advice, a job. This doesnt matter where you stay, whether in Kampala or village, those people you are close to can the start of your new journey, growth and purpose.
5. Take One Brave Step Toward Your Dream
Most people fear failure therefore be the unique one, everyday do that one thing that pushes you closer to your dream however small it is. It may be selling snacks or applying for a job. You can as well tell someone about your skills
Its never too late to try something new, get an idea, test a small business, or look for mentorship. One step at a time, you’ll build confidence and take steps toward a more fulfilling life.
