Arsenal Fall at Home as Bournemouth Stage Second-Half Comeback

AFC Bournemouth pulled off a historic upset at the Emirates Stadium, defeating Arsenal 2-1 in a gripping Premier League clash that marked their first-ever away victory against the North London side. The result propelled Bournemouth into the top 10, while Arsenal remained in second place, albeit under growing pressure.
The game began in Arsenal’s favor, with the home side dominating possession. Midfielder Declan Rice, marking his 100th appearance for the club, opened the scoring in the 34th minute with a well-placed strike, giving the Gunners a deserved lead heading into halftime.

But Bournemouth flipped the script in the second half. In the 67th minute, Dean Huijsen stunned the home crowd by heading in the equalizer, converting a massive long throw from Antoine Semenyo. Just eight minutes later, Evanilson completed a sharp counterattack, sliding the ball past the Arsenal keeper to give the visitors a 2-1 lead they held onto until full-time.
Arsenal struggled to recover, with their defense exposed on set-pieces and long balls, areas where they have traditionally been strong. Despite controlling much of the match, Arteta’s men managed only two corner kicks, fewer than Bournemouth’s three, and failed to capitalize on key opportunities.
The loss adds to mounting concerns for Arsenal ahead of their Champions League semi-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain, where a sharper, more resilient performance will be needed.
