Arsenal Outguns Newcastle as Race for Top Two Heats Up

Arsenal continued their strong finish to the season with a hard-earned 1-0 victory over Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium.

The breakthrough came in the 55th minute when Declan Rice unleashed a brilliant first-time strike from the edge of the box, slotting the ball into the bottom left corner.

The goal followed a high-press sequence that began with Anthony Gordon losing possession in his own half. Bukayo Saka quickly picked up the loose ball and found Martin Ødegaard, who squared it to Rice for the decisive finish.

Newcastle began the match with calm, possession based play but lacked a cutting edge in the final third.

The first half ended goalless, but Arsenal returned from the break with renewed energy. Their slick passing and high tempo paid off early in the second half.

With just one match left in the season, Arsenal remain focused on finishing strong in the second position with 71 points while Newcastle will be looking to regroup after a missed opportunity in London. The Magpies now sit in the 3rd position with 66 points.
