Nigerian pop star Ayra Starr returns to the spotlight with a fresh single titled ‘Gimme Dat’, featuring the globally acclaimed and Grammy-winning artist Wizkid. Released on April 25, 2025, the track is already making waves for its nostalgic yet modern vibe.

Gimme Dat draws inspiration from Wyclef Jean’s iconic hits ‘Diallo’ and ‘911’ featuring Mary J. Blige, weaving familiar melodies into a refreshing new sound.

Produced by VybeO and Mikababeatz, the track sees Ayra Starr express a heartfelt plea for love, singing in smooth Pidgin English as she lays bare her emotions, hoping not to be let down. Wizkid adds his own silky verses, effortlessly matching her energy and affirming the love story she begins.

This marks the second time the two Afrobeat powerhouses have collaborated, following Ayra Starr’s appearance on ‘2 Sugar’, a standout track from Wizkid’s fifth studio album More Love, Less Ego.

The Grammy-nominated singer continues to be a trailblazer for African pop on the world stage. In 2024, she topped Spotify’s Global Impact List, connecting international audiences with Nigerian music, particularly through her feature on Rvssian’s viral hit ‘Santa’, also included on her sophomore album The Year I Turned 21.
