Catherine Kusasira Considers Quitting NRM After Feeling Ignored by Party Leaders

Catherine Kusasira has been a strong supporter of the ruling NRM government for over 10 years. While so many musicians joined Ugandan singer who turned into politician Bobi Wine, Catherine Kusasira has stayed loyal to the NRM.
Due to her loyalty, she was able to be appointed as a presidential advisor on Kampala affairs and Ghetto matters. However, the singer has now spoken out about the disrespect she faces from some members within the NRM.
According to the singer, she hasnt be appreciated by many in the party, despite her hard work and dedication. She added that its only the President and a few top officials recognize her efforts.
“I’m tired of being disrespected by some people in NRM, how can someone block me from meeting General Nalweyiso? I’ve done a lot for this party, but only the President sees it. Sometimes, I even think about leaving the party and focusing on other things.” She said.
At one point, Kusasira had plans to run for Buikwe Woman Member of Parliament. However, she now seems to have lost interest in the position and is focusing on promoting the NRM instead.
