Dozens Injured as Car Rams Into Crowd During Liverpool FC Victory Parade

A celebration turned tragic on Sunday, May 26, 2025, when a car drove into a crowd of fans during Liverpool Football Club’s Premier League title parade, injuring dozens of people. Merseyside Police have arrested a 53-year-old white man from Liverpool in connection with the incident, however according to authorities it is not being treated as an act of terrorism.

According to reports, the incident happened ten minutes after the open-top bus carrying players and staff went by, with over one million fans attending the celebration.

Firefighters rescued four individuals trapped beneath the car, and 47 people were reported injured, including four children. Among those hurt, 27 were taken to nearby hospitals. Two victims, one child and one adult, remain in a very critical condition.

The parade was held to celebrate Liverpool's historic 20th English league title win. Fans from across the city and beyond had come out in large numbers to take part in the festivities, which were otherwise peaceful until the shocking event unfolded.

Police and officials have urgued witnesses to come forward with any information or footage that could assist in the investigation.

This tragic event cast a dark shadow over what was meant to be a joyous day for the city of Liverpool and its football community.
