Eddy Kenzohas voiced strong disappointment over what he called unfair treatment of local artists during the Coffee Marathon event held on May 24, 2025, in Ntungamo, Western Uganda. Kenzo took issue with the preferential treatment given to Tanzanian star Diamond Platnumz, who was flown in via private jet and helicopter, while Ugandan artists were reportedly only provided fuel allowances.

When he appeared on a local Television station, Kenzo described the situation as both “unfair and belittling,” stressing that Ugandan talent deserves equal respect, especially on home soil. He pointed out that while Diamond received VIP transport and top-tier arrangements, local stars like himself and Bebe Cool had to make their own way to the venue with minimal support.

“Diamond Platnumz was flown in style, yet we, the local artists, were given fuel money. That’s not how you treat your own,” Kenzo said.

Kenzo’s frustration was also reflected in his decision to skip the event’s official press conference, which was attended by Diamond, Bebe Cool, The Ben, and Truth256. Accordint to sources close to Kenzo, his absence stemmed from dissatisfaction with how local artists were being sidelined in favor of international guests.

“We are not against Diamond or any artist, we just want fair treatment. We matter too.” he added.

According to Eddy Kenzo respect for homegrown talent should not be compromised.
