Nation Media Group (NMG) Uganda has appointed Flavia Tumusiime as its new Head of Broadcast, a move that has already set Uganda’s media landscape buzzing with excitement. Tumusiime, a name synonymous with Ugandan broadcasting, steps into this pivotal role where she will oversee the operations of NMG’s prominent broadcast brands, including NTV Uganda, KFM, Spark TV, and Dembe FM. This announcement takes effect immediately, signaling a new chapter for the media group.

Flavia’s journey in the media world began at just 14 years old, when she first made her mark as a presenter on WBS TV’s Teens Club. Over the course of her impressive two-decade-long career, she has emerged as a dominant force across television, radio, and digital platforms. Her career highlights include anchoring NTV Tonight on NTV Uganda, co-hosting Morning @ NTV, and hosting the mid-morning show on Capital FM until 2022.

Her talents also captured international attention when she became a VJ for Channel O and presented Big Brother Africa in 2012, further solidifying her status as a media powerhouse.

Her promotion to this top executive position is seen as a moment of pride for the media community, especially given her inspiring rise from a teenage presenter to a respected industry leader. Tumusiime holds a degree in International Business from Makerere University Business School and is also known for her entrepreneurial acumen, with her content production company, Take Four Uganda Ltd, adding to her list of achievements.

Beyond her professional accolades, Flavia is also a family woman, married to sports broadcaster Andrew Kabuura, with the couple blessed with three children, including a pair of twins.

In her new role, Flavia’s first major undertaking will be a strategic review of NMG’s broadcast programming, with a sharp focus on enriching content and extending the digital footprint of the media group. As Uganda’s media community looks on, there’s palpable anticipation for how one of its brightest stars will steer the future of NMG’s broadcast operations..
