Inside Eddy Kenzo’s Fallout With Diamond Platnumz

Fresh details have emerged about the sour relationship between Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo and Tanzanian Diamond Platnumz and it turns out the feud goes deeper than fans initially thought.

According to media personality Jenkins Mukasa, the tension began when Kenzo reached out to Diamond for a musical collaboration. However, his approach was reportedly met with arrogance and disregard.

“Diamond Platnumz refused to meet Eddy Kenzo. He actually first wondered who he was, something which angered Kenzo, even to this day. He wanted to discuss a collaboration with him, but the Tanzanian only wanted to work with Chameleone,” Mukasa revealed.

The rejection left a bitter taste for Kenzo, who felt insulted and unrecognized despite his international success, including being Uganda’s first BET Award winner.

The feud intensified recently during the Coffee Marathon event held in Uganda, where Diamond Platnumz was the headline performer. He was flown in on a private jet from Tanzania, then transported to western Uganda via helicopter. The Tanzanian singer reportedly received five-star treatment and was paid a staggering UGX 750 million.

Meanwhile, local Ugandan artists were allegedly treated with less respect. Eddy Kenzo, among others, was reportedly only given fuel facilitation for the event.

The Sitya Loss hit singer publicly expressed his disappointment with the event organizers, accusing them of belittling Ugandan musicians and placing more value on foreign acts.

“We can’t continue being sidelined in our own country. How do you fly in someone on a jet, give them five-star accommodation and millions, yet you toss your own musicians fuel? Kenzo questioned.

He emphasized the need for equal treatment and recognition of local talent, warning that continued disregard would only demoralize Uganda’s vibrant music industry.
