Jamie Vardy to Leave Leicester City After 13 Unforgettable Years

Jamie Vardy, the legendary striker who helped Leicester City win the Premier League in 2016, has announced he will leave the club at the end of the 2024-25 season.
The 38 year old forward joined Leicester from Fleetwood Town in 2012 for just £1 million. Since then, he became the face of the club, scoring 143 goals in 338 Premier League games and winning the Golden Boot in the 2019-20 season. His incredible 24-goal season helped lead Leicester to one of football’s most unbelievable title wins.
His loyalty and work ethic made him a fan favorite and a club legend. Leicester chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha called Vardy “a unique and special person,” promising that he and his family will always be welcome at the King Power Stadium.
In a heartfelt video message, Vardy shared his feelings about Leicester’s recent struggles. The club was relegated to the Championship after losing 1-0 to Liverpool on April 20. Despite scoring eight goals this season, Vardy described the campaign as a “total mess” and said he was “angry and sad” about how it ended.
