Kyambogo's Akiso Benjamin Elected NUP Head of Institutions, Replacing Musiri David

The National Unity Platform (NUP) has ushered in a new era of leadership with the election of Kyambogo University's Guild President Akiso Benjamin as the Head of Institutions.
Benjamin took it to his social media platform X in particular and shared a heartfelt message congragulating himself and thanking the Party Executive Committee for entrusting in him.
"Huge congratulations to me on winning as Head of Institutions under the National Unity Platform. My election to the National Executive Committee is a testament to my leadership and dedication... A best substitute for @MusiriDavid the mandate," he wrote.

Akiiso Benjamin has replaced Musiri David who has been a long-serving figure. Musiri who has been the Head of institutions has stepped aside to focus on his bigger political chapter as he is eyeing for Member of Parliament for Makindye East constituency.
Musiri David's move and decision to run in Makindye East is seen as a strong move that could cement NUP's representation in Parliament.

Musiri David has been instrumental in strengthening NUP’s presence in Uganda’s higher institutions of learning. Under his leadership, the party saw rise in youth engagement, particularly through the successful mobilization of guild leaders across various universities.
Among those brought into the NUP fold were Nambassa Shamim and Alionzi Lawrence Dangote, former Guild Presidents of Makerere University, as well as Akiso Benjamin himself, current Kyambogo University Guild president.

Musiri has been a key architect of NUP's youth strategy and during his regime, young political leaders have been empowered.
