Napoli Crowned Serie A Champions After Beating Cagliari 2-0

Napoli have been crowned champions of the 2024–25 Serie A season after a 2-0 victory over Cagliari on the final day of the campaign. The win took Napoli to 82 points, just one ahead of Inter Milan, who finished with 81.
Heading into the final weekend, Inter Milan were narrowly leading the table but had dropped critical points in the previous round after a 2-2 draw giving Napoli the chance to overtake them. With the pressure on, the Neapolitans rose to the occasion in front of a packed Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Scot McTominay opened the scoring in the 42th minute and gave Napoli a lead at the break. Later, Romelu Lukaku sealed the victory with a stunning second-half goal in the 51 minute.
Manager Antonio Conte now becomes the first coach to win Serie A titles with three different clubs; Juventus, Inter Milan, and now Napoli.
While Inter Milan secured a win in their final game, it wasn’t enough to reclaim top spot due to their earlier slip. Napoli’s consistency, strong defensive record, and key contributions from star players made the difference in a fiercely contested title race.
Thousands of fans flooded the streets, waving blue flags, lighting flares, and singing club chants deep into the night.
