Robert Kyagulanyi Tells Voters to Reject MPs Who Took UGX 100M

The National Unity Platform (NUP) has urged Ugandans to vote out Members of Parliament alleged to have accepted the highly criticized UGX 100 million payout. Party leader Robert Kyagulanyi, commonly known as Bobi Wine, called on supporters to hold accountable those lawmakers who, according to the party, betrayed public trust by benefiting from what has been described as a questionable cash windfall.

This follows a development where 72 out of 109 opposition MPs publicly declared their innocence by signing an oath denying involvement in the payout. The remaining 37 MPs have yet to provide clarity, raising concerns among NUP supporters and the broader opposition.

Speaking on the matter, Kyagulanyi emphasized the importance of integrity in leadership and called for unity in ensuring those who compromised their values are not re-elected. “We must remember those who chose personal gain over the people. When the next election comes, let us not forget,” he said.

As political tensions simmer, NUP continues to rally its base to demand transparency and uphold accountability within the opposition ranks. The party insists that the fight against corruption and betrayal must start from within, calling this a moment for renewal and decisive action ahead of the next electoral cycle.
