Seeta University to Open in 2025 Following Collaboration with Teesside University

Seeta University, which is set to officially start its operations in August 2025, has entered into a partnership with Teesside University in Middlesbrough, United Kingdom. The partnership which aims at launching a training program for aspiring scientists.

The collaboration will offer Ugandan science students a globally recognized education, enhancing their skills and career prospects both locally and internationally.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed in May 2025 at Seeta University’s Mbalala campus Mukono District, will help introduce an active student exchange and training program.

Mr. Ronald Mbago who doubles as the Administrator and Academic Registrar of Seeta University confirmed that students will take up a three-year degree spending the first two years in Uganda and the final and third year will be completed in the UK at Teesside University.

According to Ronald, The program is formulated to fuse theoretical knowledge with hands on experience, preparing graduates to meet international standards within the health sector.

Dr. Lawrence Nyazi, the Director of the Doctoral Programme at the Mukono based University, confirmed that the program will bring change in the country's healthcare system.

“This program will help produce highly skilled professionals who will be able to compete in the global market while also addressing local healthcare challenges,” he said.

According to the University, The collaboration will help tackle persistent challenges in Uganda’s healthcare sector, such as limited professional development, overworked staff, and low wages.
