Singer Lydia Jazmine Cautions Aspiring Female Artists About Sex Predators in Music Industry

Jazmine expressed deep concern over what she termed a growing issue of male predators who continually take advantage of struggling female artists.
According to the singer, sexual exploitation is one of the most unfortunate and disturbing challenges in the entertainment world today. She noted that some men within the industry deliberately target young, aspiring female singers in exchange for airplay, mentions, and bookings.
“There are men who are actively preying on young girls who want to make it in music. They disguise their intentions behind promises of help or mentorship, but their real goal is personal gratification. These girls need to be very cautious,” Jazmine warned.
She urged upcoming female musicians to remain vigilant and not allow anyone to take advantage of their dreams.

The singer also revealed that many of these men use their influential positions—such as producers, managers, DJs, or established artists—to manipulate young talent.
Lydia Jazmine shared that she was able to avoid falling into such traps largely because she had built strong relationships and a solid network before launching her solo career. Having worked for years as a backup artist, she was already familiar with the industry, which helped her navigate it more easily.

“It’s my personal experience, and I speak with sincerity. I was lucky because I already knew the people I was working with. That gave me a level of protection and understanding that many upcoming artists don’t have,” she explained.
Jazmine emphasized that her decision to speak out was not to discourage aspiring female artists, but to inform and prepare them for the realities of the industry.
