Apply Now: Makerere University Opens 2025/2026 Private Entry
Makerere University began accepting applications for private undergraduate admissions for the 2025/2026 academic year last month.
According to a statement issued by the Office of the Minister of Academic Affairs on April 16, 2025, the application period runs from April 16th to May 20th, 2025.
Mr. Kiganda Julius, the 91st Minister of Academic Affairs, emphasized that the application process is strictly conducted online. All interested applicants are required to visit the university’s admissions portal at https://apply.mak.ac.ug to complete and submit their applications.
“I am pleased to inform you that the online application process for private undergraduate admissions at Makerere University for the 2025/2026 academic year is now open, running from Wednesday, April 16th to Monday, May 20th, 2025,” Mr. Kiganda said in the official announcement.
To qualify, applicants must have obtained at least two principal passes in their Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations.
The university also issued a stern warning against submitting forged academic documents. Any individual found guilty of such malpractice will face immediate disqualification, revocation of any admission or awarded qualification, and may be subject to legal prosecution.
Prospective students are encouraged to review the guidelines carefully and ensure that all submitted documents are valid and authentic.
