American superstar Chris Brown was arrested in Manchester, England, in connection with a violent nightclub. The Grammy-winning artist was apprehended at The Lowry Hotel by officers acting on a warrant issued by the Metropolitan Police.

The arrest stems from an alleged assault at Tape nightclub in London, where Abe Diaw a music producer claims the singer struck him with a tequila bottle without provocation.

Chris Brown arrived in the UK via private jet ahead of his anticipated Breezy Bowl XX tour, which is scheduled to kick off on June 15 in Manchester. However, his tour now faces uncertainty following his arrest.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest, saying that the singer was taken into custody at a Manchester hotel on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) charged Chris with one count of grievous bodily harm with intent under Section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861.

According to CPS London North’s Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor, Adele Kelly, Brown is expected to appear before Manchester Magistrates’ Court today, May 16, at 10:00 AM EAT. The CPS also urged the public to refrain from making comments that could affect the integrity of the ongoing legal proceedings.

Meanwhile, Abe Diaw has launched a $16 million (£12 million) civil lawsuit against the singer, citing severe physical and emotional trauma caused by the assault.

As of now concerns have arisen over Brown's European tour, including performances planned in cities like London and Manchester.

Brown's court appearance today will likely determine the immediate direction of both his legal case and his touring commitments.
