Cristiano Ronaldo is set to leave Al-Nassr this summer as reports suggest he will announce his departure today. The 40-year-old Portuguese football star, whose current contract runs out in June, reportedly rejected a massive renewal offer worth £167 million per year.

Since joining Al-Nassr in January 2023, Ronaldo has scored 99 goals in just 105 matches. In the recent season alone, he netted 24 times.

However, despite his individual success, team results have been disappointing and the only trophy the club won during his time was the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023.

This season, Al-Nassr finished third in the league and failed to progress in the AFC Champions League, reportedly a major source of frustration for Ronaldo.

With his departure likely, speculation is growing about his next move. Sources suggest returning to his first club, Sporting Lisbon, or joining Major League Soccer in the U.S., facing longtime rival Lionel Messi.

As Ronaldo prepares to leave, Al-Nassr is already planning for the future. Reports suggest they are interested in signing Luis Diaz from Liverpool. The Colombian winger has scored 17 goals this season and could bring fresh energy to the team. However, Diaz’s contract runs until 2027.

Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in January 2023 following the termination of his contract with Manchester United in November 2022.

He parted ways with Manchester United after a controversial interview with Piers Morgan, where he criticized the club's management and facilities.

After leaving, he signed with Al-Nassr on a 2.5-year contract worth over €200 million per year including commercial deals making it one of the most lucrative contracts in football history at the time.

The Portuguese International is still chasing a personal goal, reaching 1,000 career goals and he currently has 936 goals.
