Crystal Palace Ends 119-Year Wait with FA Cup Triumph

Crystal Palace clinched their first-ever major trophy after beating Manchester City 1-0 win in the 2025 FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium.
The South London club made history by lifting the prestigious trophy, ending a 119-year wait for silverware.
Eberechi Eze was the match-winner, netting the only goal of the game in the 16th minute. The goal came from a precise counterattack involving Daniel Munoz and Jean Philippe Mateta which Eze finished brilliantly.
Dean Henderson was also instrumental for Palace, making a crucial penalty save to deny Manchester City's Omar Marmoush in the first half.

Despite dominating possession with 76.7% the highest ever recorded in an FA Cup final since 2014, the Cityzens were unable to find the back of the net from their 23 attempts, setting a new record for the most shots without scoring in the competition's final.
The defeat confirmed a trophyless season for City for the first time since the 2016–17 season.
Palace's victory under manager Oliver Glasner not only delivered FA Cup glory but also secured a place in next season’s UEFA Europa League, marking their debut in European competition.

Crystal Palace now joins the elite list of FA Cup winners, becoming the 45th team to win the trophy and the first new champion since Leicester City in 2021 hence securing their place in English football folklore.
