The Muslim community in Uganda is in grieve following the death of Sheikh Siliman Kasule Ndirangwa, former Supreme Mufti of the Kibuli-based Muslim faction.
The news of his death circulated widely on social media platforms on friday evening claiming that Sheikh Ndirangwa had passed away after a long Illness at Mengo Hospital
Sheikh Siliman Kasule Ndirangwa was a respected Islamic scholar and former Supreme Mufti of the Kibuli-based Muslim administration. He assumed the role in 2015 and served until his resignation in April 2021, citing internal divisions within the leadership as a key reason for stepping down.
During his tenure, Sheikh Ndirangwa was known for his commitment to unity, education, and interfaith dialogue. His leadership helped expand religious education initiatives and strengthen community development programs within the Muslim community.
