Rose Nabwire was elected the 28th Guild President in a tightly contested election held yesterday at Makerere University Business School.
Nabwire emerged victor after securing the highest number of votes in a race that featured over seven candidates.
The election saw students turn out in large numbers to cast their ballots and by the end of the day her victory was confirmed by the MUBS administration and this left many celebrating her win.
Rose being an independent candidate didnt stop her from winning 9 out of the 10 faculties with a tota vote count of 2,255 and 1,242 votes for Lukwago Henry who who emerged second.

Other candidates included Tasobya Blessed, Lakwo Fred Kenneth, Ssemanda Fred Mawanda, and Taban Ambaho
Students have praised the peaceful conduct of the polls, a contrast to past MUBS elections that occasionally saw violence.
