George Foreman, the iconic heavyweight boxing champion has passed away at the age of 76.
Born on January 10, 1949, in Marshall, Texas, and raised in Houston’s tough Fifth Ward
After dropping out of school and engaging in street life, he found redemption through the Job Corps, a program that landed him to boxing.

Foreman turned professional in 1969. In 1973, he stunned the world by dismantling the undefeated Joe Frazier in Kingston, Jamaica where he won his first heavyweight title.
The late lost his first title to Muhammad Ali in their famous Rumble in the Jungle fight in 1974.
After retiring in 1977, Foreman became dedicated to preaching and community work in Houston.
In 1987 while 38 years, he staged comeback in sports and he reclaimed the heavyweight crown in 1994 by knocking out Michael Moorer at age 45 hence becoming the oldest heavyweight champion ever.

He Married five times and fathered 12 children, including five sons all named George, a choice he explained as a way to unify his family.
“If one of us goes up, then we all go up together.”
His daughter Freeda, a boxer herself passed away in 2019.
His legacy trascends boxing, heavyweight champion, preacher to later a pitchman.
