Ugandan socialite and influencer Sheila Gashumba has stirred conversation online following her recent remarks on X about her stepmother, just a day after attending her father's traditional introduction ceremony.

The ceremony helf yesterday May 15, saw Malaika officially introducing Frank Gashumba to her family in a colorful and intimate event that left the internet on blaze.

Sheila addressed the growing public curiosity about her referring to her father's new partner who appears to be around her age as "mum," and made it clear she reserves that title solely for her biological mother.

“Y’all play too much 😅 unfortunately I can’t, I will only call the woman who gave birth to me ‘mum’ so everyone must calm down.” she wrote on X.

Sheila balanced it with humor and affection and congratulated Malaika, calling her “beautiful Malaika,” and even joked about wanting two more siblings.

Sheila’s relationship with her mother has long been a subject of speculation. Raised by her father Frank Gashumba, a known public figure, Sheila has previously credited him for her upbringing and career success.

Her respectful nod to Malaika indicates she’s open to a peaceful coexistence, even as she firmly maintains emotional boundaries.

Meanwhile, the Gashumba family's event has drawn increased media attention, with many waiting to see how this new chapter unfolds.
