Tory Lanez Hospitalized After Stabbing at California Prison

On the morning of May 12, 2025, rapper Tory Lanez famously known as Daystar Peterson was reportedly stabbed by another inmate at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi.

It is said that the incident happened at 7:20 a.m. in either a housing unit or the prison yard. The singer was attacked with a makeshift weapon, believed to be a homemade shank.

Prison staff later responded immediately, provided first aid at the scene. The singer was later transported by ambulance to a civilian nearby hospital for more advanced treatment.
As of now, reports say that his situation is non life threatening, his injuries are healing and in stable condition.

However some reports suggest that the singer is in a critical condition and that he was stabbed 14 times. The injuries reportedly led to collapse of his lungs and required the use of a breathing machine, however Lanez’s team has confirmed that he is now breathing on his own and his situation has steadily improved.

Reports from his Attorney Jose Baez, indicate that the singer is in good spirits and expected to make a full recovery soon however he is still experiencing some pain.

Tory Lanez is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence following his 2022 conviction for the 2020 shooting of fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion. He was found guilty of assault, illegal firearm possession, and negligent firearm discharge.
