The Uganda National Examination Board has withheld result of students from 38 examination centers of those who sat for the UACE in 2024.
The Executive Director did not disclose the exact number of students and schools, however he said it was due to examination mal practise.
According to UNEB, 2024 registerd the lowest number of examination malpractise cases.
Obua Celestino who is the Chairman of UNEB revealed that the board has already completed hearings with the withheld Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results and added that for cases where there is sufficient evidence, results will be released and if malpractice is proved results will be canceled in accordance with Section 38(1) of the UNEB Act, Cap 259.

Obua said that UNEB will publish all the cases so as to prevent school headteachers from faking results.
''The Board has urged the Chief Administrative Officers in the districts where the schools withcancled results are located to ensure that appropriate disciplinary actions are taken against the Head teachers and invigilators found culpable,'' Obua said.
He also advised those students with withheld results not to drop out of school.
''We appeal to parents and schools to assist the affected children in repeating the examinations in 2025 rather than dropping out of school,'' he added.
