This Woman Crush Wednesday we honor an inspiring force in student leadership Rose Nabwire the current Guild President of Makerere University Business School (MUBS).

Rose rose into leadership through a very competitive political race when she contested as Guild President at the Nakawa based Campus.

During the highly competitive race, Rose was able to defeat her political rivals of which some were representing Uganda’s biggest political movements such the opposition National Unity Platform (NUP), which is headed by musician who turned into politician, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu famously known as Bobi Wine, Uganda Young Democrats (UYD), and the leading National Resistance Movement (NRM) headed by Pesident Museveni who has led the country for the last 4 decades.

Rose came into the Guild race at a time when the MUBS Guild leadership had long been dominated by men. Her win was not only a political success, but also step for women in student leadership.

Rose's victory shows that authentic leadership and a genuine vision can still win the people’s trust, even without being affiliated to any political party.

Rose hasn't only served as a Guild President, she has also engaged herself in life changing initiatives.

She has several times engaged in girl-child empowerment initiatives by providing sanitary pads to underprivileged girls in communities.
