Makerere University Extends Deadline for 2025/2026 private Sponsorship Applications

Makerere University has officially extended the deadline for applications under the private sponsorship scheme for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The decision, announced by the Office of the Academic Registrar, moves the original deadline from May 20, 2025, to May 27, 2025.

The update was communicated through the university’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, offering prospective students additional time to submit their applications for undergraduate programs through the direct entry route.

Ssentongo Charles who is the actiing Academic Registrar, via the document importantly revealed that applicants who had already completed the process do not need to reapply.

Therefore May 27, 2025, falls on a Tuesday. That's exactly one week from today, May 20, 2025.

Interested applicants are required to visit the university’s admissions portal to complete and submit their applications.
